Identity Before Influence
1 Peter 1:1–2
“To God’s elect… chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father…”

There is something powerful about where Peter begins.
He does not begin with correction. He does not begin with instruction.
He does not begin with rebuke.
He begins with identity.
To people scattered, displaced, misunderstood, and living under pressure — he says:
You are chosen.
🕰 2026 — The Scattered Generation
In 2026, we may not be scattered by geography.
But we are scattered.
Scattered by:
Financial strain
Emotional fatigue
Digital noise
Leadership pressure
Community breakdown
Many are functioning, but internally fragmented.
Peter writes into a generation under social and political tension. And instead of giving them survival tactics first, he gives them grounding.
Because survival without identity becomes panic.
And identity without grounding becomes performance.
👑 Leadership Insight — Identity Before Influence
Modern leadership often starts with visibility.
Peter starts with belonging.
If you do not know who you are:
Pressure will rename you.
Comparison will shrink you.
Metrics will define you.
Crisis will destabilize you.
But when identity is anchored, leadership becomes steady.
You are not leading to prove something. You are leading because you are rooted.
Scattered leaders must first remember they are chosen leaders.
Not perfect. Not exempt from difficulty. But secure.
🧠Emotional Maturity — Secure in Refinement
Being chosen does not remove pressure.
It reframes it.
Emotional maturity is the ability to endure refinement without collapsing internally.
You can:
Feel stretched and still be grounded.
Feel unseen and still be secure.
Feel scattered and still be called.
Peter teaches something deeply mature:
Circumstances do not cancel calling.
And in 2026, that reminder is necessary.
🌍 Community Insight — Identity Creates Stability
Healthy community begins with stable identity.
When people do not know who they are:
They compete instead of collaborate.
They hoard instead of share.
They react instead of respond.
But when identity is secure: Community becomes safe.
Peter knew something we are still learning today:
Community collapses when identity is fragile.
Before we build movements. Before we build systems. Before we build support circles.
We must build identity.
🌿 Personal Reflection
There are seasons that feel scattered.
Moments where provision feels thin. Moments where expectations feel heavy. Moments where you question whether you are behind.
But today, I am choosing to anchor here:
Identity is not location-based.
Where I stand does not define who I am.
Pressure does not cancel purpose.
đź”” Reflection Question
Where in your life do you feel scattered right now?
And what would change if you truly believed you are still chosen in that space?
✨ The Peter Season — 2026 Lens
This is not just a Bible study.
This is formation.
For the next 40 days, we are walking through 1 Peter with modern eyes.
Leadership.
Emotional maturity.
Refinement.
Restoration.
One gap at a time.
